What I like about blogs is the ability to show a wide range of images from a shoot that otherwise might not get seen. Here’s a sneak preview of a shoot with the fabulous Sophie Ashton and is a great example when that is a good thing. All pre retouch Sophie has an amazing look. You can tell I enjoyed this shoot – working with her was not only great fun, she’s bright and enthusiastic and a really receptive as a model. Frighteningly good! Watch this space as were going to do another again soon!

Here’s a very sneaky peek at a shoot I’m working the post on today, Some strong portraits for Getty. This is the lovely Chris and Sue at Mustard Models who were sooo lovely I have to give them a big biggady biggady bong as they were both brilliant to work with and spot on with what we were trying to achieve.

It was lovely to have Jonathan Hyde come by the studio last week just before he jets off to L.A. (jealous?? me??…ok just a lot) . It was fun having his humour and wit in the room and to get such a wonderful and expressive (not to mention willing) subject. You will be familiar with Jonathan’s work i’m sure if not from his extensive theatre work with The Royal Shakespeare Company and others then for his major roles in films like Titanic, Jumanji, Richie Rich, The Contract, Anaconda and The Mummy as well as numerous television appearances (you may recall him as Gavrik in the recent series of Spooks). Nice one Jonny.

These blog posts are a bit like buses are they not. Anyway here we have the fabulous Eloise from Mustard Models helping us out with a piece for Getty Images on style and sophistication. She wears it well I think, I do like a nice grown up!

Elizabeth Scott ( also from Mustard) was all over the hair and make-up.

…or maybe not. This mysterious box is not in fact a ship of the Vogon constructor fleet but one of the latest products from One Horizon Group with whom we have been making their scientific wizardry look the part for the new product launch. Unfortunately as such the need to drink several pints of beer is nullified (am I showing my age here or what).

Shooting some still life for a pitch this week with Ella who is in on work experience.

The client was requesting A super clean, grounded, vibrant approach on objects some quite small. So we whipped out the profoto 6ft giant reflector for it’s parabolic wrap effect.

Nice clean approach. The Rhino by the way was a little gift for my daughter that I picked up from the market in Cape Town when we were shooting out there last. It’s about 3 inches long. Isn’t it smashing!
